Jokingly, I say that my family made me their "sacrificial lamb" when we traveled to supporting churches. I am the only one who enjoyed playing music in public, so when pastors inevitably asked if any of us did special music they would quickly turn to me. They didn't force me. I truly enjoyed it.
Overseas, it took me a while before I found my "niche." As a young woman, it naturally fell with other young women and children. I could watch the children while the parents discussed the bible and was simply a friend and listening ear to the young girls who often went unheard in that culture. God later opened doors for me to work as a children's sports coach and was able to talk about the Lord with other coaches (men) whom I wouldn't ordinarily have been able to have conversations with.
What are some ways you have found to minister to those in your ministry?
What are some things that make it hard for you?

I remember all the times I would help my mom and dad unload equipment when we traveled, helping with all the behind the scenes things, singing, etc.
One of the hard things for me was finding friends then having to leave. It made it hard to have an open heart to reach out. There were some very difficult years while I was a teenager. But that time helped me to be more empathetic to those who need a friend or are just having a rough day. Going through things like what we have gives unusual life skills. 🙂
